Periodontal Dentistry for Gum Disease Treatment

You might think your gum tissue is bacteria free, but a staggering statistic states that 80 percent of American adults have some type of gum disease. There are various stages and severities, but the main point to remember is that all of these gum conditions are preventable. By taking some simple steps, you can help keep your teeth and maintain excellent oral health. However, if you've been avoiding your appointments, Spring/Klein Family Dentist can diagnose and treat gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Instead of concealing your smile, let it shine again with a visit to Spring/Klein Family Dentist! When it comes to teeth whitening and tooth restorations, we're sure you'll love our relaxing atmosphere, personable staff, and Dr. Boehm's excellent care. We offer the following cosmetic dentistry services below.

Bone Grafting

The bone that supports your teeth is important for the health of your teeth and gums. This bone can be lost through extraction of your teeth or gum disease. Bone grafting is used to replace the bone or bones lost by either of these processes. Your teeth are meant to last for the long haul, but unattended gum disease can cause significant tissue damage that leads to loose teeth, and ultimately losing them. Periodontitis, a later and more serious stage of gingivitis, is a disease that can deteriorate the gum tissue and bone structure of your teeth. If left alone, you may need regenerative surgery known as bone grafting to gently coax your body to rebuild the bone and other structure around your teeth. Bone grafting procedures regenerate the tissue lost from the lack of oral hygiene.

CEREC Tooth Restoration

With our CEREC method, tooth restorations are also minimally invasive, saving more healthy tooth structure through conservative and precise preparations. Ceramic materials expand and contract similar to natural teeth so the chance of your crown cracking is less likely. On top of feeling like natural teeth, CEREC technology allows for tooth restorations to match your real smile. CEREC restorations last for years and don't require frequent replacements because they don't wear as quickly as older crowns and fillings.

Oral Cancer Screening

No one likes to hear the 'C word', especially when oral cancer is so prevalent in our society today. However, did you know that the main reason mortality and disability rates are so high is because people fail to take preventative measures and get screened? At our office, we offer ViziLite oral cancer screening. After all, what's two minutes of your time when it comes to the rest of your life?

Root Canal

If you're a procrastinator or find yourself quietly ignoring dentist appointment reminders, you could possibly cause cavities to deteriorate your oral health. If you don't get cavities filled in time, a root canal may be the only route to preserve the tooth and prevent its extraction. At Spring/Klein Family Dentist, Dr. Boehm is well-versed in the best technology available and giving his patients a comfortable and relaxing procedure.

TMJ Treatment

The temporo-mandibular joint is almost self explanatory. Place your finger at the base of your jaw in front of your ear and press firmly. When you open your mouth wide, then close it, you'll feel your TMJ at work. A regular-functioning joint connects your temporal bone, the one that forms the side of your head, and the mandible, the lower jawbone. Although the TMJ contains only a small disc of cartilage, its function is to separate the two bones so that they slide easily whenever you open your mouth to talk, chew, swallow, yawn, or sing. For those with TMJ syndrome, this small piece of cartilage can cause a large amount of pain and jaw misalignment.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Digital X-Rays are safer, faster, more accurate, and easier on the environment than traditional X-rays. While the traditional X-ray film development process requires the use and disposal of toxic chemicals, no chemicals are needed for digital X-rays, making it easier on the environment.
